A high-ranking delegation of the Islamic Emirate, led by acting minister of industry and commerce, Nuruddin Azizi, departed for Uzbekistan

With the aim of expanding economic and trade relations with Central Asian countries, the delegation, headed by Azizi, is visiting Uzbekistan.

The purpose of the trip is to participate in the 4th International Investment Conference in Tashkent and to follow up on previous commitments between Kabul and Tashkent.

Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, said: “It is planned that an exhibition of Uzbekistan’s domestic products will be held on the sidelines of the conference, and the high-ranking delegation of the Islamic Emirate will meet with officials from Uzbekistan and several other countries.”

It is expected that alongside the conference, the Afghan delegation will also meet with top Uzbek officials to discuss the expansion of economic, trade, and transit relations.

Several economic analysts view this visit as an important step toward strengthening trade between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.

Economic affairs analyst Mohammad Nabi Afghan commented: “If the Islamic Emirate delegation acts in accordance with national interests, it could benefit Afghanistan significantly, as many of our projects are based in Uzbekistan.”

Another analyst, Qutbuddin Yaqubi, said: “The visit of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce’s delegation, led by Minister Nuruddin Azizi, to Uzbekistan is positive. In the current situation, it is essential to strengthen relations with neighboring and regional countries, which will bring mutual benefits.”

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce stated that this conference is one of the region’s major international investment gatherings, attended by senior officials, including presidents and prime ministers from nearly 100 countries.
