On the night of May 29, 2025, Mahjbeen, daughter of Ghulam Mustafah and a resident of the Bisima area in Washuk district, Balochistan, was forcibly disappeared from Quetta. Eyewitnesses report that she was abducted by personnel from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Military Intelligence (MI), and the Pakistan Army Security Forces from the premises of Quetta Civil Hospital.

Mahjbeen is a student of BS Library Science at the University of Balochistan. Her enforced disappearance is part of the ongoing and deeply troubling pattern of state-led abductions in Balochistan. It constitutes a clear violation of fundamental human rights and an attack on academic freedom.

Paank unequivocally condemns this illegal and inhumane act and demands the immediate and safe release of Mahjbeen. Her disappearance has once again brought global attention to the worsening human rights situation in Balochistan. Paank calls on the authorities to end the culture of impunity, ensure accountability, and respect the basic rights and dignity of all citizens.
